How To Treat Psoriasis

PSORIASIS….. hmm… when you got it, one of the most critical part of yourself like gone is YOUR SELF ESTEEM! That’s what happened to me years ago.

Feeling down, demoralized and wished that I just live in my own world. No one else will be able see me.
That is how a Chronic Psoriasis sufferer feel most of time. This is reality.

I was detected with Psoriasis way back in 2000. I just feel so weird having like kind of small red patches on my body and when I rub is just getting bigger and flaky.

Over time it just getting more and more all over my back and some part of leg and hand and very obvious on my face. It turns out to be red during hot days or when I am not well.

My work in a bakery manufacturing plant makes me most of the time, I need to be in an extreme heat exchange production areas like oven (> 40 degree C), proofer to raise the bread dough (humidity of 98%, 40 degree C), blast freezer (minus 40 degree C) and warehouse freezer ( minus 20 degree C) . Then expose again to outside sunshine whenever I need to go out for meeting or taking my lunch break outside office.

Till the patches was like getting more and more, I went to the dermatologist to find solution. One to another dermatologist I visited trying to get treatment, cure it and still couldn’t stop it from spreading. I was so depressed. Doctor says that several factors that might cause which is hereditary, body auto immune system break down or stress and extreme heat condition that triggers. I realized when I am not well, it just flares and gets more and more too.

Until one day, I have no choice than to be injected with steroid based medication. It is a kind of the fastest way to stop the psoriasis from flaring all over my body. The treatment to treat this Psoriasis is not cheap too. Consultancy cost, medication cost, blood test cost….it really cost a bomb to my pocket. Almost 30% of my  salary goes to all this treatment.

Truly, it does help but doctor advised not to take it often as this steroid base medication might reduce the red blood cells. Every dose taken, I need to do blood test to check on my red blood cells counts.
Well… after a while the psoriasis appear again…. it come and go and normally , when it comes again its so hard to get rid of it and not most of time doctor will allow to take this medication, so I decided to stop and just use external ointment or sometime some food supplement tablets while looking for other solutions.

Even my boss at work was so worry with my condition and recommended me to see his friend who is into Chinese herbal medication. I ate, I drink, I rub all kinds of Chinese traditional herbal from turtle soup, whole garlic paste , bitter roots and herbs soups and it is still like on and off kind of thing which seems there is “No Solutions” to this psoriasis that I had been suffering for years!

During 2000’, internet services wasn’t like now where you can just instantly get loads of information from the internet. Most time, I need to figure out how shall I find solutions by going to book stores and test on myself things that I have read asking people around me.

Well… to my surprised that these methods and things that I am going to share with you does really work for me and my body able to have good response to it. Over the time, I see that my psoriasis is getting reducing in size and just disappear. Only some light scares. If I often use the faded cream on the scars surely it will go away too.

Here is What I Stop Eating , What I Ate More and What I Do Always….

THINGS TO AVOID

1. I STOP eating Red Meat. No to all internal parts of Red Meat.

I drink a lot of plain water or mineral water or alkaline water. I do drink lemon juice without sugar. I squeeze half lemon in a glass of water and I drink every morning.

I also make a habit of making my own vegetable and fruit juice . Eg. cucumber + ginger + apple + pineapple , celery + ginger + lemon + pineapple and etc..

I consume a lot of hot Green Tea (no sugar) and Ginger Lemon hot drink.

THINGS THAT I DO ALWAYS

1. I use EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL (any brand) INSTEAD of LOTION to rub all over my body especially the psoriasis area. I felt lotion contain a lot of chemical and makes our skin drier. I probably have used more than 10 liter of Extra Virgin Olive Oil on my body. I applied olive oil for almost 3 years.
2. I less expose to extreme sunlight. If I want to go for brisk walking, I will go before the sun rise.
3. Try to avoid a lot of sweats because sweats make our skin very itchy.
4. Try to avoid hot areas.
5. Be Happy and adopt a Stress-Free lifestyle.

Honestly, I can say with the above practices I did and sacrifices on my favorite processes food for 2-3 years, has reduced my psoriasis up to 99%. Now, I have 4 dots of 3-5 mm psoriasis left on my back, hand and slight itchy scalp, if I am in hot humid area or having stress or not well.

Now, I do eat Red Meat but not much as it’s not my favorite food and other processed food I do ate moderately.

If my head feels itchy I will use a TAR shampoo call Polytar” and I found it is very effective and suits me compare to other brand in the market.

In case if I feel that the Psoriasis is going to flare in the future, I have standy some brand such as Daivonex Lotion and Elomet medication lotion which I found suits me well. But I try not to use it, if can. I apply on my scalp or any areas which develop psoriasis. These lotion need to have a doctors prescription.
