Participating in an exhibition can be stressful for someone who has never participate in an exhibition held locally or internationally.

NEW COMER IN FOOD EXHIBITION

As a new comer in the food industry or those whom never participate as an exhibitor from Small Medium Industry or Micro Industry no proper training is available unless from the experience of visiting to food exhibition and learn from other exhibitor, how the display is done.

But we do not know Where, What, Who, When and How does an exhibitor manage the day to day exhibition.

Food Exhibition is an interesting exhibition because we mainly able to have food to be tested and also samples to take home. The kind of booth setting must very catchy and presentable, apart from product demonstration and food to be tasted by the visitors.

Since we want to attract as many visitors to come to our booths, we need to have a daily Food Sampling, if can. Just by having a standard booth, leaflet, catalogs, buntings and banners is not attractive and can be very boring for the visitor to drop by at your booth.

Using vibrant colors, attractive booth settings, product arrangement together with food sampling will surely get more visitors to come to your booths comparing to others boring looking booth.

 

Here are some, TIPS on HOW TO SET-UP A PROPER BOOTH

 

  1. Choose a Standard Booth or base on your company budget. Normally, this is done several month or a year before the exhibition. You need to keep tract on the date of booth application. The more popular the exhibition is, the date of booking can be one year ahead. Some exhibition, can be exhibits in group. Normally, organized by association or government of a country to promote the local made products.

 

  1. Start preparing your design for : Backdrop , Buntings and also the Sampling Table design. Good design will attract customers to your booth.

 

  1. Do design for : Leaflet, Brochure or Catalogue.

 

  1. If you have a Company Profile will be an advantage to show who you are in the industry. It can be in a written format or CD or Thumb drive.

 

  1. Prepare 100-200 pcs of Name Card.

 

  1. Prepare a New Business Enquiry Forms with the format consists of Date, Name of Contact, Email, Phone Number, Name Card (Column), Product of Interest, Description on customer requests.

 

  1. If you are doing a Food Testing : you may have a ” Food Testing” form remarks consist of : Gender , Like or Dislike. This is a good place to know if the new product that you develop is acceptable by the market.

 

  1. Prepare “FOOD SAMPLES” for food sampling and also Product Samples for be given for potential buyer.

 

  1. You might need to have minimum 2 persons to take care of the booth. This all depends on the size of the booth.

 

 

WHAT TO DO DURING THE EXHIBITION EVENT

 

Depending of type of events, if it is a Food Expo, more relax environment with many selling takes place. A Trade Show is a professional platform, normally have visitors from overseas.

In Trade Show events, an exhibitor need to be professional when dealing with the visitors.

  • Proper Dressing
  • Proper Product Display on the Display counter, rack or table.
  • Stationery :Forms , Pen, Stapler
  • Kitchen Tools for Food Sampling : Disposable cutlery, crockery, tissue, plastic bag, kitchen utensils, microwave etc..

 

One day before the event, we will receive passes to enter into the exhibition hall.

We then start to set-up our booth according to our plan design. For the food sampling stuffs, we may need to bring daily to the hall as space is limited. This all depend on our storage area.

On the event day, we get all the marketing tools ready and prepared samples for food testing.

At the end of the day, clean-up and collect all data from potential customers for overall daily summary or what to do next.

All customers enquiries need to feedback to within a week after the event. If there are urgent enquiry, we need to response to our client soonest we can to closed the deal.

 

These above are some of the basics for you to prepare to be an exhibitor.
